Past Event: Mondays May 15 and 22; June 5 and 12, 2023. The Hundred Year’s War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi.
According to a review in the Guardian, “Khalidi participated in this history as an activist scion of a leading Palestinian family: in Beirut during the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon, and as part of the Palestinian negotiating team prior to the 1995 Israeli-Palestinian peace accords.”
The author wrote that his great-great-great uncle, Yusuf Diya al-Din Pash al-Khalidi, corresponded with Theodor Herzl to oppose the Zionist ideas. He was born in NYC. His father, a Saudi citizen of Palestinian origins, was born in Jerusalem. His mother is a Lebanese-American born in the United States. He is the father of playwright Ismail Khalidi and activist/attorney, Dima Khalidi.
